I purchased a - - from a well known nationwide dealership and because I needed financing American Credit Acceptance agreed to be the lender. While attempting to make the first - payments online and over the phone the aforementioned lender had major difficulty processing a credit card payment. It literally took - phone calls for - payment to be processed. Several days after going through similar issues with the second payment, I received several calls and voice messages the week of - - from American Credit Acceptance. I returned the call just to be told by one of their reps that the company no longer accepts credit cards as a payment option. Is this legal? What 's my recourse, if any? Can a merchant in the U.S. all of a sudden stop taking credit cards? Can the consumer be forced into using payment options such as - - and - -? I use my - - - - - for the points/rewards and it 's the only credit card I own. If they ca n't accept credit cards then I prefer not doing business with this organization. Please Advise.
