JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Customer service / Customer relations District of Columbia
This is a follow-up to Case -. Chase Bank cancelled the account at issue there and issued us new cards with a new number. However they are now interrogating merchants who received payment before the old card was cancelled.I have received calls from my dentist, pottery studio, exercise studio, and beauty salon all informing me that Visa has asked them for numerous documents and charge slips from payments which I made. The beauty salon said Visa told them that I had challenged a charge. That is not true. At no time were we ( my husband and me ) contacted about any of this. When I called Visa they said the cancelled card was being investigated for fraud and someone would call me back within 48 hours. I received no call. The person who we previously spoke to at Chase assured us that this was their mistake, could offer no explanation as to why the merchants I deal with are being harassed, and said there was nothing he could do about the situation.I am quite upset that people I do business with are being harassed over my account, particularly because there is no fraud involved here, rather, as explained in the previous complaint, the cancellation was due to Chase mistakenly cancelling our card allegedly because someone with the same name as my husband asked that it be cancelled - anexplanation which we find dubious.
