Credit card Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action Virginia

Initially I never was contacted by Mitchell Rubenstein & Assoc. They were not the holders listed on my credit report pulled -. - had sold it to another company, and I had to call that company and was told my loan had been transferred to MRA. MRA never sent me a bill or any notification that they had taken over my debt or how or where to send payments. My debt was -. I called MRA on -/-/15, and after being grilled about why I had not made any type of payment and explaining that I did not even know they had my debt, I told them I wanted to make - large payments over the next 6 weeks ( - pay periods ) but could not pay it all off on that day and the women I talked to was ok with that. I made the first payment through their electronic site -/-/15 for -. They called me on -/-/15 to ask me why I had not made a complete payment, claiming I said I would make $1000.00 payments, to which I had definitely not agreed. I was threatened over the phone to immediately send them $50.00 or be

sending larger amounts after my payday would be sufficient ''. I made another electronic payment on -/-/15 for -. When I tried to make the final payment online on -/-/15, their payment website was not working. I called them on -/-/15 and then again on -/-/15 and -/-/15, all 3 times forced to leave a message ( could not get to a live person any time ) asking them to return my call ( s ) as I wanted to make the final payment but the website was not working and I needed an address to which I could mail a check. I still have not received a return call from them. I did receive a letter dated -/-/15 threatening legal action since I was in default. I would not have been in default if they had ever sent me written correspondence when they took over the loan ( then I would have had an address or possibly a more direct phone number ), if they had ever sent me a bill, or if they had returned any of my phone calls. I understand that companies buy loans from other companies, but do n't they have to notify people when they do that?
