I opened an online savings account with Discover Bank with the promotion code -, which was to award new savings account customers with $100.00 if they open a new savings account by -/-/2015 and fund with at least $15000.00 by -/-/2015. When I entered the promo code in the account application process, it immediately showed the terms of the promotion, so I felt confident it was being applied to my account. I opened the account on -/-/2015, and funded it over $15000.00 by -/-/2015. However, now that the 30 days has passed since funding ( the specified time frame in which the promotion was to be awarded ), I contacted Discover and they informed me that they had no record of a promotional code being used to open my account. I would not have opened the account, or had the predictable transaction pattern, had I not signed up for this very specific offer which appeared to be successfully applied when I opened the account. They are now saying it will take them 8 weeks to investigate my case, for a promotion that was supposed to have paid out in 4 weeks already. This seems like an extreme amount of time.
