I went to - University for 4 years. My parents went through Chase to get my student loans. When I first signed my student loan paperwork the interest rate on it was low and they seemed to make it stated that I would have a low payment. After graduating college I received a bill stating I owed almost - and my payment would be $400.00 a month. This loan now 4 years later is an ARM with interest rates 12 %, 11 %, and 10 % interest rate ... NOT the -, -, and 6.25 % it started with or the payment of $400.00 it is now $700.00 a month. Mind you this is n't my only student loan because - University is technically a college that costs - a year and that does n't include food or books or rent. When I called Chase to discuss refinancing the lady on the phone literally laughed at me and stated there is no form of refinancing on chase private student loans because we no longer do them. There is no chance of you ever fixing in your rate or lowering your payment because we no longer have chase student loans. I


told me Chase holds your loan and this is not possible. So after paying on my student loan for almost 5 years I am only down - and I have a payment of $700.00 a month with an increasing interest rate. My advice is if your parents or you are going to look at any student loans make sure you weigh out all federal loan options because I am sitting on private not moving. I have - with - student loan company and they wont do anything either. They call me about - every 6 months to tell me basically that my payment is going up because I wont pay my student loan off in time. Why is it possible for PRIVATE loans that DO NOT have a part of this loan business anymore capable of not fixing in a rate, or lowering a payment, or doing anything to help? Why is it when you graduate you automatically are thrown under a bus and no one will help?
