I had a checking account with Chase. I had had a bunch of unauthorized transactions against my checking account resulting in Chase charging me over $200.00 in overdraft fees. I have part of my paycheck direct deposited in my account but when I went to check my account Thursday -/-/- my checking account was not listed online. Tonight I called Chase and was informed that they closed my checking account and that the only way to get my money was to go to a branch and apply for a new checking account. Otherwise I would have to wait 2 weeks for them to send me a check in the mail. I never asked them to close my account they just closed it on me. No notification was ever sent to me that they were closing my account as if I had known this I would have changed my direct deposit. They charged me over $200.00 dollars for overdraft protection. So now here I am stuck without my money while Chase holds my money hostage.
