Santander Consumer USA Consumer loan department,
Vehicle loan Problems when you are unable to pay Texas
I purchased a car for my then husband in - - that was financed through Santander. In - - when our divorced was finalized, our divorce decree stated he was responsible for all payments on the vehicle. This was forwarded to Santander who stated they could not honor the divorce decree and the loan was still my responsibility. My ex husband continued to make payments sporadically then decided he no longer wanted the car. I tried to continue the payments on them but just could not financially afford to. The vehicle was voluntarily surrendered to Santander in - -. They have sold the vehicle since and reported the unpaid balance as a charge off/repo. However they are also reporting it monthly as a late payment. If the loan has been charged off, why are they continuing to report a late payment monthly.
