I received a phone call from a number located in Texas ( - ) stating, Hello, this message is intended for -, my name is ( uhm ) - - I am calling regarding some paperwork that I received in my office today under your name and social security number. I need you to be advised that I have a request to put you on my schedule defined by the certified notice of intent regarding a pending case that has been filed against you. Before I stop by your residence or place of employment we wanted to give you a curtesy call and inform you that you are being put on my schedule to be served. ( Male coughing in background ) If you have any questions regarding this matter you do have a legal right to contact the following party at - refer case number -. Now just to be clear you are being put on my schedule for - between the hours of - and -. Unless I hear differently from the plaintiff I will be out to see you at that time. ( Uh ) - you have been notified. I believe that these people are not who they say they are and are violating SS 807. False or misleading representations [ 15 USC 1692e ] of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Specifically subsections 3 and 10. I am unsure of what else this person could be misrepresenting or falsely stating, all I know is that this is not the first time they have called trying to scare me into calling them back and conning me into giving them money or my information.
