I have had a loan with Plaza home mortgage for several years. I recently sent a check to pay off the loan. The check was returned with a letter that states that they do not accept personal checks for final loan payment. The letter also stated that I was continuing to be charged interest on the loan. I also have a late fee because I did not make my payment on time. I have asked to have a copy of the loan contract that I signed stating that they will not accept a personal check for final payment. Phone conversations got me no where and I was told that there is no document that I signed that would make this statement.
