Checking account Making/receiving payments, sending money New York
I was selling a futon online and the buyer gave me a check for the payment and stated that I should deposit it soon as they would arrange to have it picked up. After about five days elapsed, they stated that they would not be needing the futon and asked that I return the money to them. Not trying to be held accountable for their money, I wired it back to them as per their request. Almost a month later, Chase Bank tells me the check was returned for fraudulence so I was out that amount of money. This put my checking account in the negative. As I was moving, I had no spare money to cover the difference and when I called to comment that there should be something they 're able to do, they said there was not and I 'd have to pay them back. I filed a federal report about the fraud online but this affected nothing since I authorized the check 's deposit. After a month, they said they 'd report me to Early Warning Service despite my story. I have never had any issues with my accounts before nor have I ever committed fraud and I ca n't seem to understand why there is nothing I can do but report the issue.
