I attempted to use a credit/debit card to withdraw money from an ATM, after having confirmed my balance and that U.S. Bank, -, KY, was in-network. The ATM ate the card. I called the bank 's customer service line, and was lied to, they were aware the type of card and said if I was there the next day at bank open it would be returned, the bank refused to return the card. I called them again, and was lied to again, the CSR saying that if an ATM took a card, it destroyed it ; she connected me to a branch manager, who confirmed they only return US Bank cards because they ca n't identify anyone else, '' she did not care that I could bring several government issued photo I.D.s. She also said it was just a machine error/ glitch. So their ATM was at fault in taking my card, I got lied to, wasted time and gasoline, was treated to the worst customer service experience of my life, and have to wait on a new card from my issuer. Nowhere on their ATM does it state that policy of cards not being returned. This is a faulty, if not illegal, business practice.
