my husband received a check for approx. $22000.00 from and inheritance recently in the form of an official cashiers check. I took the check to our Bank ( Bank of the West ) in -, AZ and I was told that the funds would not be available for at least - business days. I was told that $200.00 would be available immediately, then in - days $4800.00 would be available and then in - business days the remainder. I asked why that was since it was an official check. They said that there was nothing that they could do and it was just the way it was. I have since looked up the law and see that the funds should have been available the next day. I wanted to alert you to this situation. Thank you, - -.
