I opened a paypal account in 2003. Since the period, paypal has updated its terms of service frequently with extreme anti-seller provisions, without any acceptable disclosure, and without my permission/consent per the e-sign act. I recently became aware that in some cases, these clauses include provisions stipulating that I have to sue them in a court in -, that I have to give sellers 180 days returns, waive my rights to representation with card issues, and that they have the right to charge me money and forward my information to 3rd parties even after I have closed my account with them. I believe the way they operate is not ethical. After learning of these changes, recently I closed my paypal account. However, even after closing it- they still attempted to represent me to a card issuer, force determinations, and charge me fees due to a dispute with a buyer for a prior transaction. Paypal has a reputation for being extremely one-sided to the buyer in the case of dispute resolution. In this case, even thou I was entitled to sellers protection '' they violated their own written policies by finding in favor of the buyer even thou I had provided them with ample evidence that no refund was due to the buyer and that their determination was contradictory to their own stated policies- and they have since given me a negative account balance and threatened to send me to collections. I would appreciate the CFPB 's help in resolving this matter with paypal.
