To Whom It May Concern ; Dear Sir/MadamI needed to pay - AED to a lawyer in - from my bank account that I have with Wells Fargo. This is not something that I usually do on my daily banking so I was not familiar or had any experience beforehand. I stopped by at a local branch located at - - - - -, VA, - to do the transfer. The exchange rate the branch gave me was - for - US dollar to which I agreed to since I thought Wells Fargo as a bank should have comparative rate that should be comparable to any other bank or any other financial services like - - who offer money transfer. I then sent the receipt to my lawyer as for informing them that money has been sent. I then received a phone call from them that the rate at which I converted my Dollar was very low and never saw anything like this in the history of all the exchanges that has ever been done. That raised a question why Wells Fargo offered such low exchange rate so I started to investigate. I first checked with apple federal credit union


out the exchange rate there is - for each US dollar. I then checked - - and noticed their rate is - and has always been like that. pleas consider that - has a strong economy and their exchange rate does not fluctuate much. Had I sent the money with - - - -, I would have sent $13000.00 or $13000.00 if I had used - -. I ended up paying $14000.00, $330.00 ~ $450.00 more just because I used wells Fargo Bank. Apparently, Wells Fargo in addition of $35.00 Wire transfer fee, is making between $300.00 to $500.00 as hidden fee by buying Dollar at lower exchange rate, -, and selling it at higher rate, - -. I have also attached the history of Dollar to - exchange rate that shows the min and max rate for about a week ago that shows the rate was never near -. I request a refund be issued according to correct exchange rate that has always been used internationally to convert USD to -.
