I was contacted by MCOA and was notified that I have a debt for -- for - - - - ticket. I informed rep that I have not received written notice from - - PD or MCOA stating this debt and until I do, I will disregard any debt collection attempts by phone. I called - - PD and requested original citation be sent to my address. This was done and received on - -, 2015. I have yet to receive validation of collection for MCOA attempting to collect a debt. This information has been reported and is now on my credit report. I do not have an issue paying the original balance. However, I find it odd that a collection agency finds it appropriate that they can collect funds over the phone without validation of debt in writing to the consumer. I still occasionally receive calls, however, I will not be responding until I receive a written validation of debt.
