Hello, I have a big problem with Wells Fargo bank my wife rented a vehicle from thrifty car rental, and gave them my debit card as a - ID. she is not on my account, nor is she an authorized user on my account. she used her own credit card for that rental. a couple of weeks after that they charged my debit card - dollars, i called them and they took it off so i called wells fargo, and told them that i feel that i am going to have issues with this company and to please cancel my debit card all together, which they did and the agent said as long as there is nothing on the account now they can not charge anything on this account about a month after canceling my card they charged my account - i called right away and was issued a temporary credit and they told me that they needed a statement of what happened which i did on - separate occasions, and i have the emails to prove it. Last week i got a letter stating that they are going to apply the credit back to my account because i did not send the proper information. i called an agent on the - of - and spoke to her. she said she will submit a request for more time to investigate on the - of - they applied the - to my account, and now i am overdrawn for that amount. i called and warned them that i would call CFPB and FDIC and the agent bluntly told me that i have that right but that i have that right but that the bank also has the right to close m, y account at any time, which i do n't want they are a great bank, but this is a case of somebody not doing their job. i have since separated from my wife, but anybody can check with thrifty my name was never on that contract, and i never signed for anything. Please help me with this matter.
