PayPal Credit card department,
I was scammed in -/-/- by my credit card company and pay palcredit. I purchaced an item on line using my credit card only and was billedthru pay pal credit, opening an account without my permission. I believe mycredit card issuer gave personal info to pay pal credit without my authorizationin violation of their privacy statement. I believe they did this for a fee. I madecontact with pay pal credit, my card issuer, and paypal themselves to reversethis charge and close my pay pal credit account. all refused and I was billedfor fees, my credit card was cancelled, I lost points from my card and I believemy credit has suffered. I have documented the times, dates, and who I talkedto at each step. I noticed in the press release yesterday there was scant inforegarding credit card companies taking a kickback for releasing protected infoof consumers. this is what I believe happened in my case. any info you cansend me would help. I was not able to get our states consumer fraud divisionmotivated in -/-/- to even look into the problem. even with yourpublicity yesterday they will not open even an inquiry in spite of knowing thedeceptive practices of pay pal credit and my credit card company. I wouldlike my credit card companies to honor their own privacy statements or letthe consumer know they will be releasing ss # and other personal info fromthe credit card application to others who will open accounts in their name w/othe consumers knowledge.
