JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Complaint

Privacy

JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,

Privacy Minnesota

Chase Bank is asking their credit card holders to fill out an authorization to release their SSN to Chase along with a - form. They claim it 's in the name of identity theft protection. Failure to do so will cause the account to be closed. No other credit card company is asking for this and the mere act of mailing it puts my data at risk. Credit is a competitive business and I have options. However, many others do not and would face inconvenience and possibly higher fees due to a change in circumstances. Plus Chase is n't going to assume liability for the inevitable mail fraud that will take place. Bringing the forms into a branch is n't an option when there is n't one close by. Oh, and did I mention - they say it 's for verification of my SSN? Which they already HAVE?
