Barclays Credit card department,
I was offered a great deal on a US Airways Mastercard on the airplane ... I took the deal and found out that it was not close to what they promised. The purser/attendants on the plane are overselling and lying about the terms of the deal. I was told 1 ) NO FEE EVER, 2 ) - miles credited to my account when I spend - - on the card, 3 ) companions tickets - per year, 4 ) access to lounges, and 5 ) early boarding. I got my Barclaycard from USAIR and charged - $ on the card .... no miles were credited to my account. I looked at the account on-line and there was an $89.00 annual fee! I called them the next day and they told me that they would not do give any of the benefits until the - annual fee is paid ... .. Misrepresentation at the point of sale .... They would not forgive the annual fee but did offer to drop me to a lower card which had no fee but also did not give me the - miles or other benefits. But I had to pay the fee to get the miles. The offer sounded great but they were lying through their teeth just to get a credit card application filled out. What they offer is absolutely not what the customers are getting. It is fraud if you ask me. I cancelled my card today after wasting a lot of time waiting for this deal to be real. It was n't.
