Today, -/-/-, I contacted Discover Financial Services ( Discover '' ) to inquire on the undisclosed fees '' that were appearing on my billing statements since -/-/- as fees charged ''. I was advised by Discover that this was an optional product '' that acts as insurance in the event that I were to lose my job, become hospitalized, death, etc. Never was I informed of these fees and, not to my surprise, Discover 's representative advised me that there is no future open enrollment. Thus, Discover indicated and acknowledged that these fees '' and this billing practice is false and misleading and in violation of UDAP. These hidden fees have never been accompanied by any explanation or any election of renewal or declination.
