Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt resulted from identity theft Virginia

I received a PayPal debit card in the mail which I had NOT requested. The card was sent to my home address in the name of - -. '' I immediately called PayPal to cancel the card and to find out what had happened. The representative acknowledged that the account had been opened using stolen information. I subsequently communicated with the PayPal representative by e-mail ( which I have ) to confirm that the account had been closed and that the matter was resolved. I am now being harassed by a debt collection company ( - - -, -. ) with respect to amounts owed to PayPal relating to the fraudulently opened account.
