I had a really bad experience dealing with citibank mortgage department. They gave me a pre approval for a $ - loan based on all the documentation that they asked for. And based on that I went ahead on a contract for a property in -. Nothing changed at my end, all the docs and financial situation remained exactly the same as it was at the time of approval. During the approval time, they made me spend $1300.00 USD on appraisal process, stating clearly that it will be returned back. And when the appraisal came back fine, they said my financial situation is not good for giving a loan. When I asked them what has changed since the time I took pre approval, they said nothing. Now for last 2 days, I am asking them to credit back the money which they charged and they are not communicating with me. Absolutely nothing.
