I used my debit card to make a large purchase for a laptop on Saturday ( -/-/- ). Due to communication, me not understanding the limits on the card we ( the store and I ) agreed to cancel the transaction to get that information sorted. However, during the transaction my card was run through. My account was debited 1200 dollars in less than a minute. Since the daily limit is - ( and I do n't have an extra - floating around to accommodate the bank ) I was unable to make my purchase that day. I could have lived with that but now it is Wednesday and that transaction is still pending. If it had been an emergency I would have been completely stuck. I contacted Wells Fargo and they told me i would have to wait 3-5 days. My concern is that there is n't going to be any further communication from the merchant since it is an incomplete transaction. In previous dealings I have seen ligitiment transactions sit for weeks and they have blamed the merchant. Regardless of when or if it clears they should not be able to let transactions sit like that. Additional note ... I have been taking screen shots of that transaction daily. Everyday it is in pending the date changes which makes it appear as if it has been there for 1 day. This is deceptive.
