JPMorgan Chase Student loan department,

Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Michigan

My son defaulted on his -. I am not exactly sure how many payments he missed. I called Chase, trying to make this right, however they are NOT willing to work with us. Our only options were to either give them $11000.00 as a lump sum before the end of - OR we can make payments for - months on the total owed which is approximately $18000.00. I spoke with - different - there. The - - I spoke to said we had to pay $400.00 a month ( which I thought was going to be until loan was paid off ) when I called back for more information, I was told we could only make payments for - months. We are unable to pay either $11000.00 now OR $18000.00 in the next - months. My son is in - and is not working, and we do not have the money to pay it off for him. I understand now that a - was NOT a good plan. They refuse to rehabilitate the loan and also refuse payments until this loan is paid off. On more than - occasion both - mentioned it was on his credit report and until we paid in full, it would stay. Their unwillingness to work with us in order to get this taken care of is just not understandable. I know - other lenders will rehab the loan after - payments have been made in time. Why are they not willing to do this and get full amount of loan back?
