We were the victims of credit card fraud perpetrated by a merchant in -. The nature of the fraud was altering a credit card slip and submitting it for payment to J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, as though we had authorized the charge in question. We wrote a lengthy letter to Chase, describing the underlying transaction and the fraudulent conduct by the merchant. The representatives from Chase 's customer service department with whom we dealt robotically went through the steps - likely required by a training manual - did not consider the proof that we had spent hours compiling and then posted the charge to our account. It was patently obvious from the last communication from Chase that they did not consider the information we had sent them.
