Debt collection cont'd attempts collect debt not owed debt was paid November 30, 2015 - Credit card company turned off my ability to pay and I was not able to get them to turn it back on. After - missed payments, they closed my account and I was sent to collections. I received a letter from a collections agency that stated a settlement offer. If I paid half of the amount due, the credit card company would forgive the other half. The letter stated the settlement was an option for the entire length of time that the collections agency serviced my account. In the letter they state they are attempting to collect a debt on behalf of - Bank. I was immediately suspicious as I have never held an account with - Bank. I contacted - Bank and they confirmed my suspicion of not ever having an account with them, not owing them money and that they never turned anything over to Monarch nor do they use them for collection.
