Credit card company turned off my ability to pay and I was not able to get them to turn it back on. After - missed payments, they closed my account and I was sent to collections. I received a letter from a collections agency that stated a settlement offer. If I paid half of the amount due, the credit card company would forgive the other half. The letter stated the settlement was an option for the entire length of time that the collections agency serviced my account. I paid the 50 % to the collections agency and thought I was done with this debt. However, a few months later, I was checking my credit and the half amount was still showing as due. I called the collections agency and they told me that the credit card company had requested my account back. Since the collections agency no longer had my account, they apologetically let me know that there was nothing they were able to do. I called the credit card company and asked why the debt was still there if I paid the settlement, and the representative said it was not marked as a settlement. They said they would request


why my debt was not removed. The representative was extremely rude on the phone and went as far to say " what do you want me to do about it. '' I paid the collections agency in - of 2015 and the credit card company requested my account back in - of 2015. I have not been able to get the credit card company to assist me. The credit card company has sent me to another collections agency, which I already claimed a dispute against the debt. I have proof of the settlement agreement and proof of payment to the collections agency.
