Debt collection communication tactics frequent or repeated calls September 30, 2015 - I have been receiving phone calls from a company called CNU and the representative is - -. I believe it is a debt collector, but they will not explain the issue in the voicemail. This company continues to call EVERY day of the week and they will call my work phone twice before calling my cell phone. I do n't know if this is even a debt that belongs to me, but I would prefer a letter in the mail and it be my option to contact them. I do NOT need them harassing me at my job everyday or on my cell. I wanted to verify the debtor 's validity in collecting a debt and recieved threats from the debt collector claiming to be operating on behalf of Cashnet. Enova International, Inc. Debt collection communication tactics threatened to take legal action May 14, 2015 - I have been contacted by a collection agency on behalf of CashNetUSA. I asked for verification of debt to be mailed to me, I was instead placed on hold and told that I had - hour to respond to them or they would file charges. I advised that under federal law it was illegal to threaten me. I was then told they know the law and accused me of not wanting to pay a debt I owe. When I stated I wanted to verify I owe the debt and it was n't fraud, I was asked if I have a police report. Advised I do not because they have not sent me written verification in order to do so.
