June 11, 2015 - I received a money order from a tenant and misplaced it for over one year, but it was not three years old. It was purchased through Money Gram Money orders. Money Gram claims that it is no longer any good and needs to be reissued for a large fee. I understand that a money order in the state of Texas is not abandoned unless it three years old from the date of purchase under the Texas Property Code, Chapter 72 Sub chapter B page 4.
