First Niagara Bank Credit card customer service / customer relations December 21, 2015 - For the first time in roughly 2 years, I had used an old credit card from First Niagara for a charge of $27.00 on -/-/15. The balance immediately began accruing interest and on -/-/15, I made a payment of the current balance of $27.00. The following day, the payment had n't gone thru and the balance accrued another $0.00 in interest. I spoke to - at First Niagara who advised that the payment takes 48 hours to show but when the payment goes thru it will back date any accrued interest thus wiping them off the balance.
