I have called and faxed documents to my advocate their with proof that I do not have enough to pay the full amount of the loan but need to lower the payments. To us that meant that once that amount had been borrowed, approval would not occur anymore. That credit was checked by lenders and the website that monitors student financial aid would be checked by lenders and when shown that amount had been reached, that was it.
