I have been paying the same amount on my student loans on time for the last five years. This month, my monthly payments more than doubled. I called to get help and I, with my cosigner, went through a financial assessment over the phone on - -. This process took approximately two hours and we came to an agreement of a lowered monthly payment effective immediately. In order to agree upon the financial agreement, I had to agree to an automatic deduction of half of the adjusted amount every month. Just to lower my payment, which I qualified for due to my income, I had to give a stranger my personal banking information. I called to see when I should expect my account to reflect the new monthly agreement, and the operator had no answer for me. I continued to check my account and my bank statement for the transactions to change, and nothing different. I received a letter this morning, - -, to the effect that my payment over the phone did not go through due to failure to locate my bank account. Not only has the very same bank account paid my balance every month, but no changes


my account has had the same unaffordable balance, as well as, new threats of late fees and hits on my, and my cosigner 's credits. In addition to all of this, my cosigner during her recent financial adjustment, on -, expressed that she is experiencing her own financial hardship and can not afford to help in any way. Instead of taking this new information into consideration, Navient charged me the same for the - loans she helped me finance and threatened to attack her if the payments were not collected on time. I am a good customer and have tried to do the right thing here, but Navient has not held up its end of the new bargain.
