Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments Massachusetts

I currently have a private student loan with this company. I have called them asking for my monthly payment to be lowered because I can not afford the payments in addition to my other bills. The rep took all of my expenses and came back and told me I can not get my payment lowered because I recently got a new car and I have credit cards with available money to use and balances on my credit cards which is incorrect because my credit report is not updated. I am trying to make my payments so I do not - my credit and they are not willing to help. I did not knowing buying a car to get to work and to get my child to school would mean I can not lower my student loan bill. I am living paycheck to paycheck and have to not buy food sometimes so I can make my payments and this company is OK with that as long as they receive their payment.
