Medical Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action California

I have been sent to collections over a 4 year old anesthesiologist 's invoice ( Today is the 4-year anniversary of my - ) that I knew nothing about until I received 1 invoice last - -. I promptly called them but never received a call back or received any more communication ( notes attached ) ; now I just received a collection notice on -/-/- almost 4 years to the day! The original invoice was for anesthesia during my 41 MINUTE colonoscopy. my insurance paid $2100.00 + $150.00 for -. My son 's anesthesiologist bill for his 4 HOUR - was less than this. This ca n't be legal to bill ONCE so LATE, not return calls, then collections. ( and overcharging to say the least ). I finally got them to answer the other day after 5 calls and they said it was out of their control. I called the - - - where the procedure was done, and they said they have many other people who have called them and told them that -/Dr. - did the same to them! This can not be legal and it is not the correct way to communicate with customers or do business! ( -/Dr - - - - -, -, CA - Acct # -, ( - ) -. Date of Service -/-/-.
