I make bi-weekly payments with the belief that early payment is being applied to the principal of the loan. Mortgage company however does not apply partial payments until due date. Therefore, I get no benefit from early payment. I also make an extra payment each year. I am under the impression that all early payments are to be applied to the principle as I do not have a prepayment penalty clause on the contract.
