Citibank Credit card department,
On - - 2017 My family member mailed a check via USPS-to Citi card, as payment to my account. On - - this check was cashed by citi card bank. I have an email copy of the check showing this. By - - my account had yet to be credited. On - - I call to speak with a supervisor, who is unable to find the payment. She tells me I must open a payment investigation & asks for all the info on the check-which I provide. I am told citi card will locate the check & credit the account within 4-5 days. She also informs me a conditional credit will be made until it is found. On - - I receive a letter from citi card requesting additional copies of both sides of the check, and complete bank statements -which I do not have access to ( as the check-was sent by a family member from a different state ) The letter threatens to erase the
Also note : This is my second payment investigation with citi card in 6 months. Another check I mailed was similarly cashed immediately but NEVER posted to my account. When I contacted them, they claimed it " lost '' and unable to be found for 6 months. Payment investigation involved a lengthy, time consuming, and costly process- requiring numberous faxes, service fees, phone calls & mailed documents to get my own check posted my to my own account. I am seeing a rather atrocious pattern of mishandling of payments. I have been a long time customer, making timely payments for years, with a good credit score. Citi bank does not seem capable of quickly crediting my account for the amount I sent, with the information I already provided to them. I am currently on - and undergoing medical treatment, and no longer feel at this point they are capable of resolving this issue easily -which is what I expect from this company and why I have reached out here. Thank you
