Citibank Credit card department,
I received an application for another citi AA card with - bonus miles if I purchase $3000.00 with first 3 months. I have had my primary card for approx short of 2 years and has been in excellent credit history and payment history. I was surprised that they were asking me to apply for a second card, but I figured the extra mileage points were a welcome and they would waive the annual fee for the first year. I applied for the card and I was accepted. I remember reading that I had to purchase $3000.00 within first 3 months of the the new card to get the rewards. WHY because I could not find any mention of ANY rewards with my new card on line until I called customer service and was told of the terms I have stated above. I also submitted a comment that there was no mention of awards on my new card. Now after months of back and forth with CITI customer service on line with form letter responses, I finally get a real response from a senior complaint specialist stated that " from time to time we send promotion to customers who dont qualify
charged over - dollars already. I stated that they have misled me and I would have never opened a new account if I knew that I would not be eligible for promo mileage bonus. I have been an exceptional customer and a fairly educated man and I can not believe that they can get away with this irresponsibility. This is wrong! Flat out wrong and misleading! I hope you can get through to them since I can not. I appreciate your help Sincerely -
