Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
Billing disputes District of Columbia
On - -, I requested an investigation into a charge on Wells Fargo credit card. This charge was for a rental car that I did reserve but I was charged an additional $300.00 " vehicle inspection fee '', a charge that I did not authorize and one that was over 3 times the amount of my original bill. When I filed the dispute with Wells Fargo, my credit card account was immediately restricted and I was no longer able to access my online credit card account. After following up with a Wells Fargo representative about regaining access to my online account and statements, the representative told me that " sometimes this just happens '' but he does n't know why. I eventually found out that my dispute was denied by Wells Fargo even though I did not and still do not authorize the $300.00 vehicle inspection fee. I was told that the dispute was denied because the purchase was " verified '' by the company. I never asked for verification of the entire purchase. I recently opened a second dispute for this same unauthorized charge but I am still barred from using my credit card and I do not have any access to any of my account details or statements because Wells Fargo has deleted removed this account from online profile. Wells Fargo has infringed upon my FCBA rights forcing me to pay this unauthorized charge of $300.00. Wells Fargo has also infringed upon my FCBA rights by restricting my credit card account during 2 separate disputes.
