Closing/Cancelling account California
Hello CFPB, thank you for taking the time to review my complaint. On -/-/- I went into a Wells Fargo branch and worked with a bank representative to close my Wells Fargo Checking account, Savings accounts ( - ), and Credit Card account. I received notification that my checking account and credit card were still active and intact in -/-/-, despite the fact that wells Fargo told me the accounts had been closed. In response, I returned to the bank on -/-/- to close these accounts again and explain that there was an error and the accounts were supposed to be closed two and a half months prior. Today, on -/-/-, I received word that my Wells Fargo credit card account is still open. I am frustrated with the misinformation that Wells Fargo has provided me twice now, concerned that more Wells Fargo accounts remain intact in my name ( despite my repeated attempts to sever my relationship and close my accounts with Wells Fargo ) and so I am filing a formal complaint in the hopes that more consumers are not misled by the bank.
