Tower Loan Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Problems when you are unable to pay Louisiana
I had medical issues and got behind on my payments on a loan secured by furniture and a signature loan. I kept in touch with the loan company, however they continue to call me and threaten me. They have said that they want to know what time they can come pick up the furniture, told me repeatedly that they would sue me, garnish my wages, and put a lien against my home on both loans. They try to force me to come in on a particular date and I tell them I do n't have the funds and can not come in on that day so then the threats start. They have come to my home ( I was n't here ) and left a card. They called my sister and told her to contact me and tell me that I had 10 minutes to call them back. This was approximately four days after I had been in their office and made a payment. They ca n't use the excuse that they did n't know how to locate me and needed to 'find ' me since I was in touch with them the week before. When I talk to them
they are applied ( this is especially important because they told me I missed a payment in - and I see where I made it ). I have yet to get anything to verify the dates they 're saying I 'm behind. One person says I 'm behind since -, another person says I 'm behind since -. I 've even asked for the amount of late charges so I can pay them and they can be applied to the months they say I was short. I was n't short, I paid the required amount, they allocated it and make it appear that I 'm months behind on payments. Yesterday I was told that my account had been sent to an attorney for collection a month ago but I made a payment and they pulled it back. The manager said she was sending it yesterday to the attorney because I told her I did n't have the money and could n't come in before the -. Then today she calls my job and leaves a message requesting employment verification ( I saved the voicemail and attached it to this complaint ). I 'm at the point where I do n't want to talk to them since it does no good. And all they do is threaten me with lawsuits and garnishments. Is it even legal for me to send in a payment for the month and they only apply part of the payment because of a late fee and then say I 'm behind in that month 's payment?
