Citibank Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement California
I was recently viewing my credit report through experion credit report- and after looking at my credit report I did notice there were late payments on one of the cards. I thought that was odd because I do not have any debt on my credit all my debt is paid off. Doing some more investigation from - I did find out I did have a negative balance of $2500.00 of which I was not responsible for which is a result of identity theft. The Citi card was opened on -/-/- and the card was closed due to charge offs. So someone did use my social security number, possibly my name with a different address to shop for the following items. After doing some investigative work online I did find out that the card is associated with Home Depot or it 's a CITI card that they issue to home depot. I initially called the CITI cards and they told me they do n't have me on file that I needed
- -. I have n't had a chance to call the last - numbers. I did contact some other government agencies and I did file a report. On the other hand I did contact the credit bureu and they did file an identity theft report and they are doing some investigative work and they 'll let me know what he result is in the next 30 days. So as a result I 'd like the following credit card issuers to clear my debt because its ruining my credit or I 'll be taking legal charges against CITI/Home Depot card for ruining my credit. Thank you.
