I have had a checking account with Citibank for nearly 20 years. I set up this account with a no-minimum-balance requirement and with no-monthly-fee. Before - I was never assessed a monthly service fee or a minimum balance requirement. Starting in - - Citibank began to assess me a $ 25 monthly fee for not having a minimum balance of $10000.00. They never sent me a letter stating the reasons for this fee ; I only had it explained to me in - - when I called to complain. I never agreed to this change in my account. When I asked for Citibank to explain in writing the change in my account, they refused. Citibank also refused to remove this monthly service charge, and told me I had to change to another " banking package '' to have it removed, but those " banking packages '' also assessed fees for a lack of a minimum balance. So I will be continually charged $25.00 per month that I never agreed to.
