Citibank Credit card department,
Sears credit card ( administered by Citibank - ran a promotion promising 10 % back on purchases totaling up to $800.00 per month at gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants from - through - 2016. ( Email and letter describing terms will be attached. ) These credits have never been processed properly, despite my contacting customer service four separate times. My purchases in the relevant categories totaled $630.00 in -, $540.00 in -, and $780.00 in -, so I ought to have earned $190.00. At one point, I did get credited $58.00 ( a number that corresponds to nothing so far as I can see ), but I 'm still short $130.00. ( Relevant statements will also be attached. ) Processing this promotion requires nothing more than simple arithmetic, but customer service just keeps saying - four times, now - that the problem will certainly be resolved by some certain date, at which point nothing happens, I call again, and they offer some other date. Last time, customer service tried to tell me I was complaining prematurely because two statement periods had n't yet passed ( they had ) and the problem was n't yet 8 weeks old ( it was in fact 9 weeks old ). Indeed, the people working for customer service seem wholly unfamiliar with the promotions their employer has offered, and continually misunderstand what account entries mean. For instance, Sears ran a similar promotion for - and -, and customer service never seems to grasp that credits for that promotion have nothing to do with my current complaint.
