Citibank Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account California
Citi Bank recently closed my credit card account. In doing so, they took - " Thank You Points '' worth approximately $1300.00. I have been a Citi Credit Card holder for over 10 years and I have never had a late payment or missed payment. I have an excellent credit rating. They gave me no warning that they were going to close my credit account or take my points. After closing my account, I contacted Citi Bank and they told me they could close my account and take my points at any time for any reason. They will not give me a reason for doing this. I want my points back. They tell the customers that they " earn '' Thank You points through purchases. Since I earned the points, how can they take them for no reason? I suspect this practice by Citi Bank has been used on several unsuspecting customers who have accrued several Thank You Points. Perhaps a Class Action Law Suit is needed. I see no reason for them closing my account other than to simply take my Thank You Points which I had earned.
