Improper use of my credit report Report improperly shared by CRC North Carolina
My credit report with Experian is frozen. On -/-/- at approximately - PM, I requested on line that my credit report freeze be lifted temporarily. The only option offered on the website was for 24 hours, although I only required a one hour credit lift. At - PM today, I called phone number - to verify that the freeze had been reinstated. I told the lady who answered my call that I had asked yesterday that the credit freeze be lifted temporarily, that I understood it was for 24 hours, and that I was calling to verify that my credit report had again been placed in a freeze status. The female ( voice sounded like a young person ) then asked for me to give her my social security number, full name, and date of birth. I obliged as I was under the assumption that she was about to check the status of my credit freeze. Instead, she tells me that she is not authorized to do so and must transfer me to someone else in another department. I 'm stunned ... ..I have just given my personal information to someone, who for all I know is a temp telephone
information is to customers such as myself. On another note, I do n't understand why these folks do n't offer the option of a one hour temporary lift of the credit freeze. It turns out this particular lift will remain in effect until - PM the next day as the consumer has no shorter duration option ... ..way too long!
