Citibank Credit card department,
I took a 0 % interest credit card transfer from my at & t Universal Card. The interest free period was to end - -, -. I set up auto payments to insure the entire amount transferred would be paid off before the interest free period ended. I took a separate second 2.9 % interest balance transfer that is to end - -, -. I inquired with the company that if I did that would it interfere with paying off my 0 % transfer. They advised me if I paid the minimum payment, any amount above would go to my balance that was expiring first. I paid off more than my 0 % transferred amount before - -, - ( I owed $1300.00 and I paid $2100.00 by - -, - ). The manager today told me as per the Federal Government they pay off the higher interest first, even though I specifically designated this payment to go to the one where I would be hit with a balloon back interest payment. So rather than being charged $35.00 for 2.9 % interest they are charging me $1300.00 for not paying the transferred balance by - -, -. It is ridiculous!!!
