Bank of America Bank account or service department,
Checking account Using a debit or ATM card New York
On -, I received a text message from Bank of America ( henceforth BoA ) asking if a few suspicious transactions were legitimate. I immediately responded " NO '' as directed. Immediately afterwards called BoA to cancel the card, where I was told that the card was cancelled. In actuality, they never cancelled the card, and the thief went on to continue using the card, withdrawing - dollars. I have been back and forth with BoA three or four times, and each time they say they will re-open the claim, and every time they say it was not their fault and re-close the claim. Again, I flagged these transactions and called to cancel the card and got confirmation that it was cancelled, and they never actually did! MOST of the theft occurred AFTER I called BoA to confirm the fraud and cancel the card. At this point, I am out over $ -, and they keep giving me the run around. How can Bank of America act like this? They flagged the transactions to me in the first place and I called in to cancel the card! This is entirely their fault, and it has put me in a serious pinch.
