Citibank Credit card department,
I paid a Best Buy credit card balance in - ( amount - ). Apparently this payment was received a day late. Then today - -, I receive a statement saying I owe - in late fees and interest for not paying a - initial late charge that was due apparently in early -. I received no bill in the mail in - and that did n't seem strange to me because I thought I had a - balance. Now here is the issue. A - late fee on a - late payment is a 64.96 % late fee. This is not interest but usury! Now top that off with a - late fee for not paying the - bill ( which again I did not receive ) amounts to a 102 % late fee charge on the late fee. And this is legal?! It should n't be. Now the nice lady on the phone that heard my rant ( I did ask her how she could work for such a low life company ), was willing to remove the - late fee on the late fee, which left me with a - initial late fee to pay. I believe such a fee is immoral/and only describable as " greed ''. A $10.00 late fee and the check would have been in the mail as soon as I knew I still owed anything ( which I remind you was TODAY, not sometime in late - with a due date in - ) but a nearly 65 % late fee. I 'm not taking it lying down. Irony : I just spent $1400.00 at BB two weeks ago on a new computer. I am seriously considering carrying it right back in and asking for a refund. So BB you can take me for $27.00 or I can return my $1400.00 computer. You decide. Have a nice day.
