Citibank Credit card department,
I had an answering service with - - - which I canceled. They charged me extra after cancellation. I brought the issue to my credit card company, Citibank, attention. I provided all the facts of the matter and they still did not reverse the charge. The answering service company was not answering the forwarding calls which is the reason I pay for this service. My colleagues informed me about the lack of service as they could n't get in touch with us. I contacted the company on - - and canceled service stating that they have not been answering my business calls being forwarded to them as per our service agreement. We contacted them via email and phone call on the - - again to confirm the cancellation. When I signed up with this company 3 1/2 years ago, they charged my card one month in advance. Now, They charged my card for - again, even though I have canceled my service. They are refusing refund despite the fact that I have canceled within guidelines.
This shows the company relies on scare tactics and predatory practices to collect money from clients. They had my credit card on file since I started with their company. I explained to her it would have been impossible for my service to remain active without them receiving payments. She said they have been subject to internal fraud and implied I could be part of it. As outrageous as that sounded, as a courtesy, I provided her proof of charges on my credit card for every single month of service since 2015. With all this, it is difficult to tell if this is a legitimate company or fraudulent. I suspect individuals or the company are committing fraud by trying to scare the customers into paying for charges that are not real. Their actions and their own claims of internal fraud are definitely red flags in that direction.
