Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action Maryland

Financial Management Solutions contacted me on my personal cell phone in - of 2015 attempting to collect a debt from an apartment complex that I believe I do not owe. While speaking with the representative, I explained to him that in - 2015, I gave proper 60 day notice of my intent to vacate the property due to me having - young children, - being - dependent, as a result of an uninhabitable unit that consisted of mold, a non working refrigerator, and a thermostat that had no mercury in it, which I repeatedly for 4 consecutive months complained to the management about, which were causing me and my children constant health issues. After vacating the unit on - -, 2015, I visited the rental office to return the door key, as I was never given a mailbox key. The representative in the office refused to accept the key and declined my request to schedule an appointment to do a proper walk through of the property, implying that the property had a new management as of - 2015, in which tenants were not properly notified in a timely fashion and that I would have to submit a new 60 day

his call was an attempt to collect a debt and ask me how much of a payment I was willing to make on that particular day. I explained to him that I was not agreeing to the debt and would not agree to make a payment. He then said to me that if I did not comply and agree to make an immediate payment along with an arrangement that he would be forced to take legal action and that he would be sure to report to the credit bureaus the said debt and that he would see to it that I would not be able to obtain another rental property for at least the next 7 years. He then went on to say to me that he was sure that I did not want to be displaced nor did I want to deal with his company moving forward with any legal actions because of my refusal to make an immediate payment. I requested that his agency send me proof of validation and verification of the outstanding debt that they believed I owed the original creditor within 30 days, which his company failed to do in a timely manner.
